Award showcase now online

A video showcase of projects shortlisted for the 2024 Victorian Oral History Award is now available on the Oral History Victoria (OHV) YouTube channel.

The recording features presentations from the winner Alexandra Pierce for her podcast series Women, Conscription, War and representatives of three highly commended projects:

  • Remembering Ash Wednesday: An oral and visual archive of the 1983 Ash Wednesday fires in Aireys Inlet and its district
  • In The Footsteps (Melbourne Holocaust Museum)
  • The People’s Movement: The Birth of Selby Community House.

Since 2020 OHV has partnered with Public Record Office Victoria and the Royal Historical Society of Victoria to offer an Oral History Award as part of the Victorian Community History Awards.

The 2024 winners were announced on 24 March 2025 and the video showcase was recorded online on 30 April 2025.
