The Australian Historical Association (AHA) has announced the winners of its 2020 annual and biennial prizes and awards and a number of oral historians feature among the recipients.
Congratulations to:
- Karen Twigg for winning the Jill Roe Prize for the best unpublished article-length work of historical research in any area of historical enquiry, produced by a postgraduate student enrolled for a History degree at an Australian university – for her work ‘Dust, dryness and departure: constructions of masculinity and femininity during the WW11 drought‘
- Alexandra Dellios for jointly winning the Allan Martin Award, a research fellowship to assist early career historians further their research in Australian history – for her work ‘Remembering Migrant Protest and Activism: the Migrant Rights Movement in pre-Multicultural Australia‘
- Mia Martin Hobbs, commended in the Serle Award, given biennially to the best postgraduate thesis in Australian History awarded during the previous two years – for her work ‘Nostalgia and the Warzone Home: American and Australian veterans return to Việt Nam, 1981-2016’.
